While reading the latest edition of Gilbert Magazine, I stumbled across an outstanding word--quotidian. Do you know what it means? I didn't. But take a guess--
A. Prone to sprinkling one's conversation with famous quotations.
B. Commonplace or occuring daily.
C. A custodian in a library.
D. Ancient or resembling something from the distant past.
If you guessed A, C or D, better luck next time. Quotidian means commonplace or occuring daily. So if you want to use an uncommon word to describe something commonplace, "quotidian" fits the bill.
